Vous vous demandez quelle mouche m'a piquée ? Moi aussi ! Ca, c'est l'équipage 184 du Rallye Aicha des Gazelles 2012, actuellement en pleine perte de repères dans le désert marocain. The picture above is a photograph of Team 184, participating in the women-only rally raid "Rallye Aicha des Gazelles 2012" and currently trying to find their way in the Morrocan desert. Là déjà, vous avez l'impression d'être en territoire connu, avec ce petit motif brodé assez rapidement (et en rupture avec mon abécédaire Brenda Keyes qui avance très très péniblement), et qui sera au centre d'un coussin 25cmx25cm, que j'avais l'intention d'offrir il y a 2 mois...

Well, I am sure you now feel you are back to familiar ground with this small design stitched rather fast (a break from my Brenda Keyes sampler which is taking forever), and that will adorn a small 25cmx25xm armchair cushion I meant to give a friend 2 months ago...

 Je me demande d'ailleurs s'il est bien sage d'y avoir brodé l'année... Je plaisante, il ne me reste plus qu'à coudre la housse, donc l'objectif est quasiment atteint. C'est un dessin Blackbird Designs un peu arrangé pour l'occasion, vous en verrez l'intégralité quand le coussin sera prêt à être emballé et expédié à sa destinataire. Bientôt.

I wonder whether I was not over-optimistic when I stitched the year... Joking of course, all what's left to do is to sew the pillow cover, meaning the project is almost finished. It is a Blackbird Designs pattern, only slightly altered to fit the purpose, you will get a full view once the cushion is ready to be wrapped and shipped to my friend. Soon.

Du bleu, du bleu, du bleu... j'avais envie de bleu après mon dernier ouvrage très rose.  Et c'est en brodant le modèle Liberty House de Blackbird Designs que j'ai pu me "lâcher", avec quantité de peinture bleue délavée ("old blue paint" - Gentle Art Sampler Threads). Une fois n'est pas coutume, j'ai encadré l'ouvrage dans la foulée, et l'ai d'ailleurs renommé  "Red Door House" (la maison à la porte rouge), puisque j'ai omis la référence patriotique en ne brodant pas les bannières blanches et rouges accrochées aux fenêtres. L'abécédaire est accroché avec ses congénères dans la cage d'escalier, pour une fois c'est une affaire qui a été rondement menée.

Blue, I needed blue to counterbalance the recent pink stitching. The craving was easily satisfied by "painting" the walls of Liberty House (Blackbird Designs) with "old blue paint" (Gentle Art Sampler Threads). Never say never, I immediatly framed the piece and renamed it "Red Door House", as I left out the patriotic banners hanging from the windows. The sampler is now hanging next to its peers in the staircase, for once I completed a project from A to Z in no time.  

L'escargot a été déniché dans le jardin des merveilles du décorateur  Retour aux Sources : adresse trouvée lors de mes lectures bloggesques, petit tour sur leur site en ligne avant d'aller sur les lieux, dans une  campagne à 50kms de chez moi. Je cherchais une couronne en fer, vue sur plusieurs blogs, convoitée, et trouvée également sur place : je suis rentrée chez moi satisfaite de mes emplettes dominicales.

I bought the snail ornament in the heavenly vintage garden decor boutique Retour aux Sources, mentioned  on a couple of French blogs. I first went to their online site, before visiting the actual outdoor shop, located in a pretty village 50kms away from my home. I was looking for an iron crown-shaped pot holder and found it there : I was quite happy with my Sunday shopping.

Pas encore de nain dans mon jardin, mais pour repérer le trou destiné au mât de l'étendage parapluie (trou qui disparaît régulièrement dans l'herbe), une tortue en terre rapportée de l'île de Bréhat; Marie-Cookie-le-chien l'ignore avec superbe.

No dwarf yet in my garden, but a clay tortoise, whose mission it is to stay close to the hole meant for the  umbrella clothes dryer post (else the hole keeps disappearing in the grass); we brought it back ("it" being the tortoise, not the hole nor the post) from our trip to the Isle of Bréhat off the northern coast of Britanny - the dog ignores it.
