Cette année, St Valentin a rimé avec AeF et visite de CarolR, qui est arrivée sur le sol français chargée de petits cadeaux, tous plus appréciés les uns que les autres. On se souviendra que Carol est spécialiste des travaux miniatures : elle a fabriqué pour moi ce très petit pinkeep rond à mon initiale. Je crois qu'elle a l'intention de produire l'alphabet entier, rendez-vous sur son site le moment venu ! L'ourson et le coussin berlingot au fond sur la photo sont aussi des cadeaux de sa part, présents et passés - du petit, je vous dis !

Valentine's Day, Aiguille en Fête and most importantly, Carol's visit. She arrived with a Santa bag full of presents, that were very much appreciated, thank you, thank you. Carol loves smalls, and she made this special coin-like pinkeep for me, with my initial. I believe she will soon release the entire alphabet on her chart site, watch out. The teddy bear and the pin pillow at the back in the picture are all gifts from Carol - smalls, of course !

 Elle avait aussi confectionné pour moi un coussin à aiguilles très "couture", dont je n'ai pas encore percé le secret de fabrication: il faudrait que je le démonte, et je ne vais pas le faire !

Carol also gave me a very chic "haute couture" pin pillow, which I would have to disassemble in order to understand the secret behind its making - I am not going to do that, obviously.

 Parlant de coussin à épingles, j'ai augmenté ma collection en achetant à l'AeF sur le stand d"Une Croix Le Temps d'un Thé que j'ai réussi à atteindre malgré les courants contraires de la foule, un petit carré tout simple imprimé (ça change des croix brodés) agrémentés de jolies épingles "maison". Je suis partie au Salon avec une liste d'achats bien précis (ciseaux Roulot, ruban, toile, aimants, dentelle, breloques... les utiliserai-je vraiment ?), ce coussinet est la seule dérogation que je me suis accordée. La surpopulation ne m'a pas laissé le choix de flâner et de faire des découvertes, ce que je regrette un peu.  Mais m'a donné l'opportunité de retrouvailles inattendues, donc tout n'a pas été perdu.

I have this oblong wicker basket filled with small cushions, and I added one bought from Une Croix Le Temps d'un Thé at the AeF show. I managed to elbow my way to their stand, like I successfully made my way against the current to the dozens stands I had checked on my list prior to going to the show.  I managed to buy the items on my list (Roulot scissors, trim, magnets, lace, fabric, charms... that I needed but might never be used...) but the crowd prevented me from musing and making discoveries, which I do regret. However it gave me the unexpected opportunity to meet with a long lost acquaintance, not so bad then.     

L'année prochaine, il faudra s'arranger autrement. Avec l'espoir que tout le monde ne fasse pas la même opération en même temps, sinon ça ne servira à rien.

We'll have to think of a better timing next year. In the hope that everybody will not make a similar move simultaneously, else we shall be back to square one.
